What are the effects of physical distancing on pets?
Lockdown can be a very exciting time for your pets. While working from home, take
advantage of this time to enjoy some extra cuddles, walks and playtime with your pets.<\/p>\n

While walking your pets make sure it is always on a lead and remain 2m away from other pets and their owners. Avoid crowded areas like dog parks and busy trails, but quiet neighbourhood streets and less- popular trails can give you an excellent opportunity to get outside for a long walk with your dog.<\/p>\n
Lockdown with cats can be great fun, finding new ways for you to play with them indoors. Simple things we already have at home like cardboard boxes, balled up paper, wool etc provide a good source of entertainment for both you and your cat.<\/p>\n
How do I protect my pets if I get sick? Keep your cat indoors if possible, to prevent them from interacting with other animals or people. A good option would be to have another member of your household care for your pet while you are sick.<\/p>\n
Many veterinary clinics are adjusting their policies to reflect physical distancing guidelines related to COVID-19. If your pet needs veterinary care or to collect medication, prescription dog food etc, call your veterinary hospital ahead of time to be ready for you.<\/strong><\/p>\n
